Do-It-Yourself Haircut 2002

Journaling reads "... or have your brother do it! Dan & I woke up to this surprise on Tues. Jan. 15, 2002! Michael had taken a scissor and Laura (must have) sat still for a "buzz cut" hair cut! Luckily she was uninjured! I was devastated! It was a MOPS morning, so Dan decided to stay home from work with the 2 culprits while Tasha and I went to MOPS. Anytime anyone asked how I was, I broke into tears and explained the hair cut. a hair-stylist at MOPS volunteered to fix Laura's hair as best as she could. When she saw Laura's hair though, she wasn't sure she could do much. She did well with what she had. After this, anytime someone asked me how it was going with 3 kids, I answered "Have you SEEN my daughter? THAT's how it's going!" This incident was a great learning experience for me. I learned about what is really important, and things can really be worse than a bad hair cut! I still HATE scissors and chewing gum -but have lived through the other DIY hair cuts since that day. It took 10 months for Laura's hair to grow back long enough to really look like a girl. Along the way, I got lots of compliments on Laura's "cute" hair cut (seriously!)! And darn it if she wasn't cute even with no hair!!"

Laura's 6th Birthday

Page below journaling reads "Lucky Laura got 2 birthday cakes for her 6th birthday! The first was from mom & dad on her birthday (unicorn cake). The second was a DQ ice cream cake from Grandma & Grandpa Steffenhagen when we celebrated at their house later that month."

Holiday Extravaganza 2006

The journaling reads "We attended the River Falls Holiday Extravaganza. There were pictures with Santa & Mrs. Claus for $4 (we skipped -look at the line!). The animals, horse drawn wagon rides and Santa Clause III movie, candy for the kids and carolers were all free! We had a blast despite the long wait in line for the movie. Michael 9, Laura 7 1/2, Natasha 4 3/4"

Tasha Sleeping 2006

The journaling reads "Tasha fell asleep like this after one of our many fights over getting out of the car. It was obvious to me she was tired, but I didn't think she'd fall asleep this fast or in this position!"

Teeth 2006

The journaling reads "Mike and Laura lost teeth at the same time. It might even have been Laura's first loose tooth. I thought Michael looked like a reverse vampire missing his "fangs". It took forever for those 2 teeth to grow in too!"

Greenhouse Flowers

Here are some flower pictures that Dan took at the greenhouse. I printed this one out on photo paper rather than my usual cardstock to be sure the pictures turned out as stunning as on the computer screen.

Halloween 2005

Dan was able to bring me the rest of the pictures from his computer! Yeah! Now I have more to work with.

The journaling reads "Since Michael started school we've been going to the UWRF dorms to go trick or treating. It is always (very) warm and dry and the kids get tons of candy. We don't bother going in our neighborhood. This year Laura was a princess, Tasha a unicorn, and Michael a soldier."

Teddy Bear Park

These are the most recent pictures on my computer. Dan has more 2006 and 2007 pictures on his computer at work. He has tried to burn me a cd, but so far he only has made 3 coasters (failed attempts)! These pictures were taken by my friend Alanna and shared with me. We went to the park with her and 3 of her kids -Ian, Madeline & Marissa.

Dressed for Easter

This is a page with the kids all dressed up for church on Easter. We had the girls change clothes before the egg hunt.

Kitten Sitting

Journaling reads "We kitten-sat for the Schroeder's kitten Martin. She was sweet and cuddly. We all loved taking care of her!"

February Snow

The journaling reads "We woke up on Valentine's Day to a beautiful landscape of snow-covered everything! The kids had time to play before school and Dan was able to use his lawn tractor for the first time!"

I also made a 6x6 page:

Happ-E-Hill 2005

Here is a 2 page layout for the next year we went to Happ-E-Hill. Michael and Laura had the day off of school, so they were able to come along too. The large picture with all the kids was our holiday card that year.

Happ-E-Hill 2004

This is the first "real" page I made. I wanted to be sure to include that animals in the page, since that was one of Tasha's favorite things to do at the pumpkin farm.

My first digi scrapbook page

This is my first digital scrapbook page ever. It was more of an experiment of what I could do rather than a "real" page. Unfortunately, I couldn't fit "girls" and Natasha's name got cut off. I really had fun making it though!
